Jennifer Alvarez

I received my Master's degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in 2010 and a Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies in 2008 from Saddleback College. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings including residential drug and alcohol programs, community mental health, veterans hospital, and private practice. I have treated individuals, couples, and families with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.

I love practicing therapies that work so you can expect to participate in evidence based therapies like EMDR, CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and IFS. I also take a trauma-informed approach to couples therapy. I continue to further my education and experience through advanced trainings such as EMDR. I also focus on special populations: Veterans & First Responders, LGBTQ, and non-traditional couples.

I am a member several professional organizations including: American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) - Clinical Member, Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (GAMFT), Star Behavioral Health Provider. and EMDRIA
