Great to meet you!

You're carrying more than you let on.

I work with adults who are holding a lot — and are tired of pretending they're not. Competent, thoughtful people who look fine from the outside. Inside, they're navigating grief, long-standing depression, anxiety that never really shuts off, complicated family systems, or recovery from substance use.

Some have been in therapy before and felt unheard. Some are coming for the first time because whatever they've been doing is no longer working. Either way, you don't have to keep managing alone.

I've been working in mental health since 2009 and licensed since 2014. I bring lived experience of recovery and profound loss into this work. I don't center myself in sessions, but it shapes how I show up — with steadiness, honesty, and no illusions about how long healing can take.

I know what it is to rebuild. I know what it is to sit with grief that doesn't resolve neatly.

I'm licensed in Colorado, Virginia, and Wyoming and offer telehealth exclusively — not as a default, but as a deliberate choice. It allows for privacy, consistency, and depth without adding more logistics to your life.

My approach to therapy

My foundation is person-centered therapy rooted in the work of Carl Rogers. At its core, that means I trust that you are the expert on your own life. My job is to listen deeply, reflect clearly, and create a space where you can tell the truth.

That doesn't mean I sit back and nod.

If I see patterns that are keeping you stuck, I will name them. If something feels inconsistent, I will gently ask about it. I care about warmth, but I also care about integrity. Therapy with me is collaborative and real.

I pay attention to how stress and trauma live in the body. Sometimes that means slowing down enough to notice your breath or tension. Sometimes it simply means recognizing when your nervous system has been in survival mode for a long time. We use what is useful and leave what is not.

I am not interested in endless processing. I am interested in helping you understand yourself more clearly so you can make different choices.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation. I will ask about what brought you in, what has been hard, and what you hope might change. I am listening not just for symptoms, but for meaning.

You will not be pressured to disclose more than you want. You will not be judged. You will also not be placated.

By the end of that first meeting, you should have a clearer sense of whether you feel safe and understood. If we continue working together, we will set goals that are honest and sustainable.

Therapy with me is grounded, direct, and relational. If you are looking for someone who will meet you with both compassion and clarity, we may be a good fit.
