Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jennifer, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisor designation (LPCC-S) in Kentucky and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio, and the founder of Mighty Minds, LLC. I earned my degree in Counseling & Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College in 2018.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in meeting people exactly where they are. With kids, I use child-centered play therapy (CCPT), following the child's lead so that safe, consistent space lets them work through whatever they're carrying (big emotions, transitions, trauma, family changes) in a way that makes sense to them.

With parents and caregivers, my focus is on equipping rather than fixing. I see the whole family system, and I want caregivers to leave with real tools and a deeper understanding of what's underneath their child's behavior. With adults, I bring that same non-shaming, human approach, and I draw on my EMDR training when it fits a client's needs.

What you can expect from me

For kids, the first session is a parent-only intake. I'll spend that time hearing the full picture from you: what's been happening, what you're hoping changes, and what your child's world looks like day to day. I'll also explain how child-centered play therapy works and what you can expect from our time together, since it looks different from more traditional talk therapy. Your child will meet me and the playroom in the sessions that follow.

For adults, the first session is about getting to know you, your history, what brought you in, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together.
