My name is Jennifer Dorado and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida with 20 years of experience.
I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University and a B.A. degree in Psychology from Florida International University. I work with adult clients on issues such as: anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, attachment issues, substance use, self-esteem, co-dependency, interpersonal conflicts and family conflict, among others.
I often use evidenced based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Narrative therapy, and Attachment based techniques. Initially, we'll explore the issues, and through our work together, you can begin healing and continue forward with hope and self-confidence. It's important to me that you feel comfortable during the therapeutic process. I will go at your pace and my goal is that you feel safe and supported.
Providing a space of acceptance where you can express yourself, and feel safe doing so, is important to me. I work with clients at their own pace and help clients identify the source of the problem, find their personal strengths, and use the therapeutic tools which will help empower them to attain their goals. After sessions, clients often mention that they feel less anxious and have more clarity on how to move forward with the issues.
