Great to meet you!

Welcome

Hi, I’m Jenny Dykeman, and I’m a licensed counselor dedicated to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate challenges, build on strengths, and create meaningful change. I believe counseling should be a supportive, collaborative process where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered.

My professional experience includes working in school and clinical settings, providing individual, group, and family counseling services. I have experience supporting individuals with emotional and behavioral concerns, family and relationship challenges, social and emotional development, life transitions, trauma-related concerns, and behavior management. I also have experience completing assessments and developing individualized treatment plans that support growth and long-term success.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling is client-centered and strengths-based. I work to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment while using evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and partnering with clients and families throughout the counseling process.

Areas of focus may include:

  • Children and adolescent counseling
  • Family support and parent collaboration
  • Behavioral and emotional concerns
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Social skills development
  • Self-esteem and confidence building
  • Life transitions and adjustment concerns
  • School-related challenges
  • Individual and group counseling

I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make the process feel welcoming and approachable from the very beginning. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I look forward to walking alongside you as you work toward growth, healing, and lasting change.

I welcome the opportunity to connect and discuss how counseling may support your goals.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s normal to have questions about what the process will look like. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.

Our first sessions focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to counseling. We will discuss your concerns, strengths, goals, and any important background information that may help guide treatment. Together, we will identify areas of focus and develop a plan that feels meaningful and realistic for you.

Therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life and experiences, and my role is to provide support, perspective, tools, and guidance as we work together toward your goals.

As therapy progresses, we will regularly review goals, celebrate progress, and make adjustments as needed. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling supported, understood, and equipped with tools you can apply in everyday life.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I look forward to helping you take the next steps toward positive change.
