Finding a way to weather the storm with peace and contentment has been my life's work for the past 17 years. I specialize in treating trauma (both big and small), PTSD, and Reactive Attachment Disorder. Other interests include depression, anxiety, and family issues.
I am an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist. Using an individualized approach, I work with the brain's natural capacity to heal and process information. I work under the assumption that the past creates the filter for how we respond in the present. Using the specific EMDR therapy protocol, I help clients heal from old hurts and painful wounds and to begin to experience the world and themselves through a newly positive lens.
I weave elements of talking therapy, body-based interventions, and non-traditional modes such as yoga, breathing and mindfulness. I focus not only on processing and working through target events from the past but also on building resources, healthy coping skills, and strengthening self-care. Thus, a new lens is gained to see the future from a place of strength, hope, and adaptability.
