Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jennifer Eastman, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner passionate about helping people through comprehensive medication management tailored to your unique needs. I'm currently pursuing my Doctorate in Nursing at Western University of Health Sciences, where I also completed my Master of Science in Nursing and post-graduate certifications in both Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Practice. This dual training gives me a holistic perspective on how mental health intersects with overall physical wellbeing. I bring over 20 years of healthcare experience to my practice, including years as a Registered Nurse in pediatrics and emergency care, where I became a Certified Emergency Nurse. My extensive work in clinical research as a Sub-Investigator in CNS clinical trials has kept me current on the latest evidence-based treatments and emerging medication options. I specialize in psychiatric medication management for adults and adolescents, treating ADHD, depression and mood disorders (including bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. I take time to understand your complete story—not just your symptoms—so we can develop a treatment plan that actually works for your life. My approach integrates both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, and I carefully monitor treatment response to make adjustments as clinically indicated. I believe in trauma-informed, culturally competent care, creating a safe space where you feel heard and respected. I understand that starting or adjusting psychiatric medications can feel overwhelming, which is why I prioritize clear communication, patient education, and shared decision-making throughout your treatment. I don't just prescribe medication—I partner with you and collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other supports in your life to ensure comprehensive care for long-term stability and improved quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach rests on a fundamental conviction: lasting healing occurs when clinical accuracy meets authentic human connection. I bring sharp diagnostic ability, extensive psychopharmacology knowledge, and evidence-informed treatment planning to every encounter—united with empathy, respect, and a steadfast commitment to recognizing you as a complete person.

I practice fully engaged psychiatry, meaning I am entirely present during our time together. You are not a category or a file—you are someone with a rich inner landscape, meaningful relationships, genuine aspirations, and challenges that warrant my undivided attention. The most illuminating moments often emerge in pauses, in emotion, or in what remains unspoken. I create room for all of it, because everything you carry holds weight and deserves to be acknowledged.

What distinguishes my approach is the intentional harmony between scientific rigor and personal investment. Every decision is guided by evidence and molded by who you are as an individual. Instead of directives, I present options—sharing my clinical thinking while fully respecting your autonomy. If you wish to explore non-medication paths first, I stand behind that completely. When medication becomes the right course, we weigh possibilities together and construct a plan you feel secure in.

I am a firm believer in continuous reassessment—what serves you at one phase may need to shift, and I remain flexible as your circumstances change. I see mental wellness through a holistic lens, understanding that emotional health is deeply tied to physical wellbeing, relationships, surroundings, and sense of purpose. Wellness is not a final destination but an ongoing journey, and I am devoted to walking alongside you through each chapter.

You deserve care that genuinely honors who you are—and that is the benchmark I uphold every single day. From the moment you connect with me, you are no longer navigating this on your own.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is a genuine conversation centered on understanding who you are and what support you need. We will explore your current symptoms and challenges — how long they have been present, what triggers them, and how they affect your daily life, relationships, and overall wellbeing.

I will ask about mood, anxiety, energy, sleep, appetite, concentration, motivation, and any distressing thoughts or behaviors. We will examine when symptoms worsen, whether they are consistent or intermittent, and what, if anything, brings relief.

Your psychiatric history matters. We will review previous diagnoses, past treatment experiences, hospitalizations, and medications — including dosages, duration, effectiveness, and side effects. We will also cover your broader medical history, current prescriptions, supplements, and known sensitivities. Substance use, including alcohol, caffeine, and other substances, plays a role in care decisions, and we will discuss this openly and without judgment.

I will also explore the psychological and social dimensions of your life — past trauma, current stressors, relationship dynamics, work demands, and the support systems around you.

What makes this process different is that I approach every detail with genuine curiosity rather than a checklist mentality. My clinical experience allows me to recognize patterns and connections that might otherwise go unnoticed, bringing both depth and precision to your care. I take time to connect the dots between your history, circumstances, and goals so the care we build reflects the full picture of who you are.

Following this thorough evaluation, we will determine whether medication management is appropriate. You will leave feeling heard, respected, and confident that you are in exactly the right place. No matter how long you have been struggling or how many times you have tried before, this is a fresh start — and I am here to make it count.
