Great to meet you!

I am Jennifer Ferguson. I knew I wanted to be a therapist when I was 13. After college, I was a teacher on and off-interspersed with staying home with children. While completing my counseling degree from Capella University, I was still able to stay at home with my children. I have worked at a drug rehab center for women, a small private school as their mental health therapist, at a mental health hospital outpatient program, and in private practice, virtually and in-person.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to allow you to process your experiences in a non-judgmental environment. As we talk I am able to ask questions based off of what you are talking about, your tone, and your body language. I use therapeutic methods such as CBT, person-centered therapy, and education. You know you better than anyone else and I am your tool and support for improving you through encouragement, education, and guidance.

What you can expect from me

As the result of therapy with me, you can expect that you will be heard, challenged, and occasionally educated. There may be times when you feel worse because you spent time working on something you have been stuck on and there will be times when you feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. My ultimate goal is for you to develop the skills needed so that you can kick me out of your life.
