Jennifer Hooks

I am a licensed professional counselor with 13+ years of experience in the mental health field and maintain the highest respect for my clients, honoring the fact that they choose to share their life challenges with me. I enjoy helping individual adult clients navigate life challenges such as anxiety, relationship issues, unhelpful thinking patterns, and those seeking overall self exploration/improvement. I see clients in-person in North Austin/Cedar Park, TX area or virtually to Texas residents.

I take a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach to therapy with you as the guide to your change. My belief is that individuals carry out life the best way they know how and that change occurs when one can practice self acceptance and make connections between their current and/or past patterns of thinking, their beliefs about themselves, their emotions, and behaviors. I do this using various modalities such as, but not limited to ACT, CBT and other mindfulness based practices.

During the first session, I like learning about your needs for therapy and helping you to identify those if you feel lost. We will work together to establish goals for therapy, maintaining flexibility when change and growth happens along the way. My hope is that clients will take with them increased self awareness of themself and their view of the world in order to better navigate life with curiosity, compassion and flexibility.
