I work with clients who are 18 years and older seeking nature based therapy for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more. I am trained in mindfulness practices and aid clients in understanding themselves, their relationships with others and how to live their best life possible. I focus on building a client's skills and resources to manage their challenges. I'm collaborative and respect the knowledge and experience clients bring to the counseling relationship. Some clients seek me out because they want to take advantage of the healing power of nature, some clients prefer to meet indoors in my cozy office or use telehealth.
I utilize nature based approaches to increase awareness of thoughts, feelings, behavior patterns, and core beliefs. Clients increase awareness of who they are/are not so they can live life in alignment with their beliefs, values and priorities. Increased awareness of thoughts, feelings, sensations in the body, behavior patterns, and core beliefs can stimulate growth and change. I help clients’ build a toolbox to manage the challenges that come with personal growth and life. I believe in the healing power of nature and some clients engage in sessions outdoors within the natural environment in different ways. Other clients prefer to meet indoors in my cozy office space and telehealth sessions are used when client's need or request it.
I work together with clients to set their treatment goals as we both bring important things to this process. Ideally clients will be working to increase their resources and skills to live their best life possible. Successful outcomes will mean a client is improving their ability to connect with themselves, others and the more than human world. It also means clients are embracing the learning process and understanding change is challenging, yet possible and manageable.
