Great to meet you!

My name is Jennifer Kapolchok and I have 15 years of experience working with adults, couples, and children. I provide a safe and open therapeutic space to explore areas that impact life in important ways. I enjoy encouraging and supporting individuals along their wellness journeys, as each is deserving of a full and content life.

Like with many experiences in life, my path to becoming a therapist was not linear; I have always enjoyed helping others and initially thought I was interested in doing so through practicing law. Midway through law school, I began to learn of different jobs where the opportunity to help people was varied and far-reaching. This field spoke to me and I understood I wanted to study social work and earn my master's degree. From there, I found myself with the opportunity to work in a variety of settings with the mission of helping encourage and empower individuals to create the change and improvements they wanted in their lives. I began working with veterans at the VA Medical Clinic before transitioning to serving active-duty military members and their families. I have worked in hospital settings, in outpatient mental health clinics, and individually with clients in behavioral telehealth and private practice. I have never looked back with respect to my decision to pursue a professional career in mental health. I am energized by the opportunity to collaboratively explore challenges and areas for growth using a strength-based, empowerment model. My favorite experience is encouraging individuals to create the change they seek. I will be forever grateful to be involved in this important process. Thank you for being here and for your openness to grow.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In our work together, I look forward to collaborating as we discover the path that will best meet your needs and goals for therapy. I respect your time and willingness to choose this journey and recognize the importance of gaining value from the experience. I believe creating a safe space where trust is cultivated is essential to progress; I welcome feedback and our shared opportunity to evaluate needs and steps for change along the way.

What you can expect from our first session

My provision of care is shaped by respect, empathy, the importance of self-determination, and compassion; I believe in the value of listening with an open mind and heart and responding thoughtfully with kindness. Through sharing our stories and truth, we are able to increase awareness and access parts of ourselves that promote clarity and understanding. I am grateful to learn from others every day and hope to share in this knowledge in our work together.
