Great to meet you!

You may look like you have everything together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns you can't seem to change. Perhaps you've experienced trauma, difficult relationships, loss, or painful experiences from the past that continue to affect how you feel today. You may even understand why you feel this way but still find that insight alone hasn't created the change you're looking for.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified EMDR Therapist. I specialize in helping adults work through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, chronic stress, burnout, and difficult life transitions.

My clinical background spans psychiatric emergency services, outpatient behavioral health, substance use treatment, community mental health, and private practice. This experience allows me to bring both warmth and strong clinical expertise to our work together, particularly when life or mental health has begun to feel complicated or overwhelming.

Therapy doesn't have to be another place where you're expected to have everything figured out. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can understand what's keeping you stuck, heal from experiences that continue to affect you, and begin creating meaningful and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective therapy goes beyond simply talking about what's wrong. Sometimes we understand our patterns intellectually but still find ourselves having the same emotional reactions, relationship struggles, fears, or beliefs about ourselves. That's often where deeper therapeutic work can be especially helpful.

As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that can help people process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional intensity connected to them. EMDR can be particularly helpful for trauma and PTSD, but it may also be incorporated into treatment for anxiety, negative beliefs about yourself, difficult relationship experiences, grief, and other emotionally painful experiences.

I also integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, attachment-based interventions, and other trauma-informed approaches based on your individual needs.

Our work will be collaborative and personalized. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your ability to manage difficult emotions, develop practical coping skills, and—when appropriate—work toward processing the experiences underneath those patterns.

Many of the people I work with are capable, successful adults who have spent years taking care of responsibilities and other people while quietly struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship patterns, or unresolved emotional wounds. Therapy can become a place where you no longer have to simply push through, but can begin understanding, processing, and changing what's happening beneath the surface.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you're considering talking about experiences you've carried for a long time. Our first sessions are focused on helping you feel comfortable, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you would like to be different in your life.

We'll talk about your current concerns, important experiences from your past, relationships, strengths, supports, and previous experiences with therapy. I'll also want to understand what has helped you before—and what hasn't—so that we can develop an approach that feels meaningful and individualized rather than one-size-fits-all.

If you're interested in EMDR, we won't immediately begin processing difficult memories. We'll first discuss whether EMDR is appropriate for your goals, answer your questions about the process, and make sure you have the preparation, coping strategies, and resources needed before moving into trauma processing.

You can expect me to be warm, compassionate, collaborative, and engaged. I'll support you, but I'll also gently challenge patterns or beliefs that may be keeping you from the changes you want to make.

Most importantly, you don't have to tell your entire story in the first session—or before you're ready. We'll move at a thoughtful pace while building the trust and emotional safety necessary to do meaningful work together. My goal is for you to leave therapy not only understanding yourself better, but feeling more confident, grounded, and able to move forward in your life.
