Jennifer Livingston

I began my nursing career in 2005 here in Colorado. I am lucky my nursing career has included working in hospitals, participating in nursing leadership, and caring for patients in community settings. This rich history helped guide me toward my current role as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) where I have the privilege of helping patients decide which mental health medications may be most beneficial and getting to know who my patients are outside of meetings with me.

I believe patient-centered care that prioritizes communication, relationship-building, and collaboration between providers, patients, and the patient's outside care providers is the most beneficial approach to providing quality care. As the patient you are the expert on your life and your mental health goals and your voice should always be heard as you are the most valuable member of your care team.

Providing education, answering questions, and encouraging patients to advocate for themselves is very important to me. I don't ever want patients to feel rushed to make a decision or pushed in a direction that is uncomfortable or feels unsure. It is not only my responsibility to help you to understand your options, but it is my privilege to do so.
