Hi! I’m Jen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia and owner of Sampaguita Psychotherapy, PLLC. I have 20 years of experience working with various populations and in several different areas including inpatient mental health, family services, hospice and managed care. I currently work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, including generational and cultural trauma, and grief & loss.
I utilize various treatment approaches to include, but are not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques to assist clients in the therapeutic process. I believe flexibility in therapy is also important as the needs of the client can quickly change from one session to the next.
It's important to me that my clients feel comfortable in speaking honestly and openly with me. I aim to establish a healthy and therapeutic relationship with my clients to assist and empower them in reaching their treatment goals.
