Great to meet you!

Jennifer's previous work experience in public health research drives her to track significant outcome measures and welcome client feedback. She incorporates trauma-informed mindfulness practices such as brainspotting and EMDR, as well as solution-focused techniques into her work with clients to make sure that the root of each therapeutic issue is addressed and clients can track their own progress in therapy over time via goal-setting.

My approach to therapy

In our initial sessions, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychoeducational tools to help you identify the thoughts, behaviors, and emotional patterns that are keeping you stuck. This phase is about clarity: naming what’s going on beneath the surface and understanding how it shows up in your daily life. Once we’ve identified the patterns, I’ll guide you in developing a mindfulness practice that supports emotional regulation and self-awareness. Mindfulness isn’t just about meditation, it’s about learning to observe your thoughts and feelings without immediately reacting or spiraling into shame. As therapy progresses, we’ll begin applying your new insights and regulatory skills to real-world situations. This is where growth becomes sustainable. You’ll start noticing how your responses shift, how your boundaries hold, and how your self-trust deepens.

What you can expect from me

I like to talk about the end of therapy at the beginning. As a result, I will ask questions not only about your presenting concerns and how long you've experienced them, but also "what would it take to wake up one morning and think to yourself, I don't think I need to go to sessions with Jennifer anymore?" Your answer will help shape the treatment plan we create together and work off of in following sessions.
