Great to meet you!

Jennifer's previous work experience in public health research drives her to track significant outcome measures and welcome client feedback. She incorporates trauma-informed mindfulness practices such as brainspotting, as well as solution-focused techniques into her work with clients to make sure that the root of each therapeutic issue is addressed and clients can track their own progress in therapy over time via goal-setting. Jennifer also has formal training in Motivational Interviewing (MI).

"I hope to collaborate with you to alleviate any pain, frustration, or worries that may be keeping you from reaching your academic, professional, and/or personal pursuits. I have experience working with LGBTQ+ adults, women's issues, military, and first responders."

My approach to therapy

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my initial sessions with clients to confront unhelpful thinking. Later, I encourage routine mindfulness practice to begin making changes regarding how you see yourself, the world, and your problems. As we work towards your unique treatment goals over time, you'll have the option to dive deeper into subcortical level processing with brainspotting.

What you can expect from me

Our main foci in therapy will typically include increasing an understanding of your presenting issue followed by learning new skills and/or self-awareness to resolve the root of the issue. Creating short and long term therapy goals together will increase the likelihood of you achieving therapeutic success during our work together as well as empower you to stay well upon termination of counseling.
