Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jennifer Mills! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 3 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and the effects of trauma. I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you’re balancing responsibilities, managing difficult emotions, or trying to make sense of experiences that have shaped you. Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and you deserve a space where you feel comfortable being yourself without fear of judgment. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore your experiences. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, work through challenges, and develop practical tools to help you feel more confident and connected to the life you want to build.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe meaningful change begins when you feel safe, understood, and supported as we work together toward your goals. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, and trauma may be affecting your daily life, while identifying patterns and building skills that support your emotional well-being.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another, so you can develop healthier ways of responding to challenges. I also incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help you recognize your strengths, identify what is already working, and take manageable steps toward your goals. Motivational Interviewing can help you explore your feelings about change, clarify what matters most to you, and build confidence in your ability to move forward. Through Strengths-Based Therapy, we’ll identify the personal qualities and resources you can draw on when life feels difficult.

Our work will be tailored to your needs, experiences, and pace. My goal is to help you develop practical coping strategies, strengthen your relationships, and feel more grounded, capable, and confident in navigating life’s challenges.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can bring up many emotions, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before our first session. We’ll begin by getting to know each other, discussing what has brought you to therapy, and exploring what you hope to gain from our time together. I want you to feel comfortable sharing your experiences, asking questions, and expressing yourself at your own pace.

Together, we’ll identify goals that feel meaningful to you and develop practical strategies that fit your everyday life. Whether you’re working through anxiety, navigating depression, managing stress, strengthening relationships, or processing difficult experiences, I’ll meet you with compassion, encouragement, and an open mind. We’ll recognize your progress along the way, adjust our approach as your needs evolve, and build on the strengths you already have.

My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and better equipped to face challenges with greater clarity and confidence. You don’t have to navigate everything alone, we can take the next steps together.
