Great to meet you!

For the past 19 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals facing concerns about substance use, mental health challenges, major life transitions, and the often complicated journey of personal growth. I work with adults and young adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, including individuals struggling with substance use, those beginning or maintaining recovery, and people whose lives have been impacted by a loved one's addiction. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family conflict, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem concerns, legal stressors, and significant life transitions.

I believe meaningful change begins with connection. Having faced personal challenges of my own, I understand that life does not always follow a straight or predictable course. There are seasons when we may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from the person we once were or the person we hope to become. My role is not to judge your journey or tell you who you should be, but to walk alongside you as you navigate troubled waters, identify barriers, rediscover your strengths, and create a life that feels more grounded, purposeful, and authentic.

My approach to life and therapy has also been shaped by experiences outside the counseling room. Growing up, I played soccer through college and even played on the boys' soccer team in high school, an experience that taught me perseverance, courage, and how to keep moving forward when the path is challenging. I also spent a meaningful amount of time sailing and racing sailboats out of Annapolis, Maryland, including delivering them along the East Coast and to Bermuda. Those experiences taught me that we cannot always control the wind, the waves, or the storms we encounter, but we can learn how to navigate them. That belief continues to guide my work today.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, practical, and individualized. I understand that recovery and wellness look different for everyone. Together, we can explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop healthier ways of coping, strengthen emotional regulation, improve relationships, and work toward greater peace, stability, and self-understanding.

Therapy can be a place to find your footing, reconnect with yourself, and create a steadier course forward. Whether you are beginning recovery, working to maintain it, facing emotional struggles, rebuilding relationships, navigating a major life change, or seeking greater personal awareness, you do not have to navigate it alone. My goal is to help you find a place of safety within yourself, to anchor peace and serenity while building the strength and confidence to move forward.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you in and what you're hoping will change. I'll ask questions to understand your story, your challenges, your strengths, and your goals for treatment. This is also your chance to see if I feel like the right fit for you.

You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and valued. Your journey matters. When you are ready, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Whether you are feeling stuck, starting over, rebuilding trust, questioning old patterns, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can offer a place to begin. My mission is to provide a safe, compassionate, and supportive space where you can gain insight, build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and move toward lasting recovery and emotional wellness.
