Great to meet you!
For the past 19 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals facing concerns about substance use, mental health challenges, major life transitions, and the often complicated journey of personal growth. I work with adults and young adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, including individuals struggling with substance use, those beginning or maintaining recovery, and people whose lives have been impacted by a loved one's addiction. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family conflict, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem concerns, legal stressors, and significant life transitions.
I believe meaningful change begins with connection. Having faced personal challenges of my own, I understand that life does not always follow a straight or predictable course. There are seasons when we may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from the person we once were or the person we hope to become. My role is not to judge your journey or tell you who you should be, but to walk alongside you as you navigate troubled waters, identify barriers, rediscover your strengths, and create a life that feels more grounded, purposeful, and authentic.
My approach to life and therapy has also been shaped by experiences outside the counseling room. Growing up, I played soccer through college and even played on the boys' soccer team in high school, an experience that taught me perseverance, courage, and how to keep moving forward when the path is challenging. I also spent a meaningful amount of time sailing and racing sailboats out of Annapolis, Maryland, including delivering them along the East Coast and to Bermuda. Those experiences taught me that we cannot always control the wind, the waves, or the storms we encounter, but we can learn how to navigate them. That belief continues to guide my work today.
