Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) in Kansas and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri–Columbia, and I have over 25 years of experience working with children and families, including 17 years as a licensed clinical social worker. Over the years, I have supported clients through a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges, and I believe therapy can be a place where people feel both safe and empowered to grow. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical coping strategies and resilience. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, relationship issues, self-esteem challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and life transitions. My goal is to help clients feel more confident, connected, and capable as they move through life’s challenges.

My approach to therapy

My approach is nurturing, supportive, and grounded in the belief that positive change happens when people feel accepted, safe, and understood. I value humor, kindness, and authenticity in the therapy process, and I work to create a space where clients can show up as themselves without fear of judgment. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping each person build skills they can actually use in everyday life.

I have experience working with individuals presenting with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges, and I especially enjoy helping adolescents and young adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma, family issues, and life transitions. Using CBT, ACT, and mindfulness, I help clients notice patterns in their thoughts and behaviors, strengthen emotional regulation, improve coping skills, and move toward healthier relationships and greater confidence. My goal is not just symptom relief, but helping clients create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I want clients to feel welcomed, heard, and supported. We will spend time getting to know one another, talking about what brought you to therapy, and exploring the concerns that feel most important right now. Whether you are coming in for anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, relationship issues, family issues, self-esteem concerns, or a difficult life transition, my goal is to create a calm and supportive space where you do not feel alone in what you are facing.

Together, we will begin identifying your goals and talking about what healing, growth, or progress could look like for you. I want you to leave the first session feeling hopeful, respected, and reassured that there is support available -and that you do not have to navigate life’s challenges on your own.
