Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a LCSW with 15+ years of experience working in ER's, walk-in crisis centers, private practice, community mental health, mobile crisis & addictions.

I received my Bachelors of Social Work at UNCP & my Masters of Social Work at Aurora University.

I work with adults (18+). I specialize in PTSD, anxiety, depression, & grief. As a previous ER & Mobile Crisis Clinician, I welcome emergency service workers/first responders!

My approach to therapy

I collaborate with clients to gain an understanding of their presenting challenges and goals for therapy. I use a client centered and trauma informed approach. I am open, honest, direct, empathetic and use humor, as appropriate.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Other interventions that I use, as clinically indicated, include DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, solution focused, etc.

What you can expect from me

My assessment sessions are comprehensive and in addition to assessing someone's current symptoms and functioning, we'll discuss their "life story" to gather information.

Sessions can be challenging, healing, frustrating, enlightening but always focused on what the client needs as they work on improving their well-being.

It takes courage to start therapy. I hope every client leaves session feeling heard. I want to ensure I am a good fit for the client!
