Great to meet you!

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which involves exploring the situations, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors causing distress and using healthy strategies to regulate the emotions and respond effectively. I also incorporate a trauma-informed, strength based approach, and mindfulness.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is flexible, compassionate, and collaborative. I will strive to work within your goals and highlight the strengths and resilience you already have. Using evidenced-based methods, I allow both open-ended time for the client to express themselves while also providing strategies and new ways of looking at or responding to what is causing distress. Often I will offer concepts or skills to think about and apply practically throughout the week.

What you can expect from me

During the initial session, I will take time to get to know you, what brings you to therapy, and what you want to see improve. I view the process as a collaborative effort between client and therapist. Over time, clients may notice progress by feeling emotionally lighter, allowing and accepting their feelings, and experiencing increased clarity and confidence to live by their values, honor their needs, and take tangible steps toward their goals.
