Great to meet you!

I've been doing this work for over 22 years, and I mesh well with people dealing with substance abuse, mental health challenges, and life's toughest moments. I've worked with all populations: adolescents struggling with addiction, women dealing with domestic violence and codependency, individuals with schizophrenia, families affected by addiction, and even the jail population. I'm a CBT and Motivational Interviewing expert who also uses mindfulness techniques, and I bring a lot of information and experience to the table. But here's what matters most: I have adolescents who are now 35, 36 years old still walking up to me to say thank you. I've had women approach me at workshops to tell me they're attorneys now, and it's because of the help I gave them when they came to me with three children and nowhere to turn. I attribute my success to one thing: I always put myself in my client's shoes. I have to see what they see to develop a treatment plan that actually helps them.

My approach to therapy

I'm direct, I'm real, and I'm funny because it just can't all be gloom and doom. My approach is about meeting you where you are and seeing the world from your perspective. I challenge myself as a therapist this way, because when I understand what you see and what you're going through, that's when we can create real change together. I use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and many other tools that help us understand the whole picture. I work with all kinds of people, and sometimes my clients have taught me just as much as I've taught them. I'm not here to judge, I'm here to help you find confidence in your decisions and control in your life as you walk through it.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we're going to do a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment. It helps me see things from your perspective so I can really understand what's going on in your life. I'm going to ask questions, listen to your story, and start seeing things from your perspective. You can expect me to be warm, direct, and sometimes a little humorous; because that's just who I am. We're going to start building a treatment plan together that's tailored specifically to you and what you need. My goal is simple: I want you to walk away from our work together feeling more confident, more empowered, and better equipped to handle whatever life throws at you. Whether you're struggling with addiction, dealing with trauma, managing mental health challenges, or just trying to find your way – I'm here to help you get there.
