Great to meet you!

I’ve spent 20 years working in psychiatric care, most of it in inpatient settings with adults — so I’ve walked alongside people through some of their hardest moments. That experience shapes how I show up now as a psychiatric nurse practitioner: I listen closely, take medication management seriously, and believe treatment works best when it’s collaborative, not one-sided. I’m especially passionate about helping people navigate anxiety and mood disorders, and my goal is simple — to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and safe.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative — I don’t believe in handing someone a treatment plan without their input. We figure it out together. Coming from 20 years in inpatient psychiatric care, I’ve learned that people do best when they feel like a partner in their own treatment, not a passive recipient of it. I lean on evidence-based practices, but I also pay close attention to the person in front of me — what’s worked before, what hasn’t, and what actually fits their life. Medication management is a big part of what I do, but so is listening. I want you to leave our appointments feeling like you were actually heard, not just processed.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is about getting to know each other — I want to understand your history, what’s brought you in now, and what you’re hoping to get out of treatment. Expect me to ask a lot of questions, not to interrogate you, but because I want the full picture before we start making decisions together. We’ll talk through symptoms, past treatment (what’s worked, what hasn’t), and any medications you’ve tried. By the end, you should have a sense of what I’m thinking in terms of next steps, whether that’s a medication plan, referrals, or just a plan to check back in. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out in one session — this is the start of a conversation, not a one-time evaluation.
