Great to meet you!

Hii. I’m Jenn and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health and Marriage and Family Counseling from Barry University, where I trained in both individual and systems-focused approaches. I’m also trained in EMDR, which I often integrate into treatment for clients navigating trauma, anxiety, and deeply rooted emotional patterns.

Over the years, I’ve worked with clients facing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, self-esteem challenges, relational issues, substance use concerns, and major life transitions. My clinical experience spans diverse communities and settings, and I’m passionate about making therapy feel accessible, grounded, & genuinely supportive for each client I meet.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years living abroad, which gave me a deep appreciation for multicultural identity, human resilience, and the many ways people find meaning across different cultures. That global lens is woven into my work every single day. Being fluent in both English and Spanish also allows me to offer care that honors language, culture, and identity - because sometimes healing happens most easily in the language that feels like home.

My approach to therapy

In my work, I blend creativity, mindfulness, and a deep respect for each person’s inner wisdom. I see therapy as a collaborative process - you bring the expertise on you, and I bring the tools, curiosity, and grounded support to help us navigate things together.

My approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and often sprinkled with creative strategies that help you express what words can’t always capture. I incorporate somatic awareness and mindfulness practices to help you reconnect with your body, calm your nervous system, and uncover insights that might be stuck beneath the surface. Together, we explore your story in a way that feels safe, meaningful, & empowering.

What you can expect from me

A first session with me is all about creating comfort, clarity, and connection. We ease into things - no spotlight interrogation, no pressure to “start at the beginning,” and definitely no need to have your entire life story organized like a filing cabinet. You show up exactly as you are, & I meet you there.

We’ll begin by talking through confidentiality - what it means, how it protects you, and the few rare circumstances where I’m required to break it for safety. My goal is to make this part feel reassuring, not intimidating, so you can settle in knowing you have a private, protected space that’s truly yours.

From there, I’ll gently guide the conversation with open-ended, comfortable prompts designed to help us explore both the immediate concerns bringing you to therapy and any longstanding patterns or experiences that might be quietly shaping your present. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right - I follow your pace, your comfort level, and your natural rhythm.
