I am a licensed mental health counselor with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults from diverse backgrounds and within various settings in different capacities. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in School Psychology at Adelphi University, where I have received training in a wide range of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy modalities, which I utilize in both talk and play therapy. I am also receiving training in psychological assessment and evaluations, and integrate that knowledge into my clinical practice. I have presented in multiple conferences and am currently focusing on research in childhood sexual abuse and trauma.
I do not believe there is a "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. Instead, I consider the whole person within their unique context. I use an integrative approach tailored to the specific needs of each client, helping them gain insight into the underlying causes of their beliefs, behaviors, and interactions. My clients and I work as a team, learning from one another to effectively address challenges and discover solutions and healing. I view therapy as a journey - I follow your lead while gently offering observations and helping you find your direction along the way.
I hope my clients leave each session with a deeper understanding of themselves, along with effective, practical tools they can apply outside the therapy room. My goal is to empower them to build self-efficacy and self-acceptance, equipping them to navigate whatever life brings their way.
