Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jennifer — a New Jersey native living in Southern California for over 17 years. Clients often tell me they appreciate my balance of honesty and compassion. I’m not afraid to be direct when it’s helpful, but I also create a safe space where you can feel seen, supported, and never judged. I bring my full self to our sessions- grounded, real, and invested in your growth.

I work best with individuals who are ready to look inward, explore patterns, and take steps (big or small) toward meaningful change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges, or grief, my role is to help you reconnect with your strengths and feel more like yourself again.

My sessions are rooted in evidence-based practices like DBT and trauma-focused CBT, but I always tailor treatment to your unique experiences. I also bring lived experience- as a former educator, corporate leader, and someone who’s moved through personal loss- which helps me meet clients with empathy and understanding.

Therapy is work, but it can also be empowering, even transformative. I’d be honored to walk that path with you. Feel free to learn more : www.BayRidgeEffectiveTherapy.com

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and rooted in evidence-based techniques. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation — one that helps you feel grounded, seen, and supported while also offering real tools to create change in your life.

I primarily draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), helping clients better understand their emotions, manage stress, improve relationships, and heal from past experiences. Sessions are structured but flexible, meeting you where you are and adjusting as your needs evolve.

Whether we’re building coping skills, reframing negative thought patterns, or processing something painful, my goal is always the same: to help you feel more empowered and aligned with the life you want to lead.

I show up with warmth, honesty, and creativity and I’ll encourage you to bring your whole self, too.

What you can expect from me

Clients often leave sessions feeling more grounded, understood, and equipped with practical tools they can immediately apply to their lives. You can expect to gain insight into the patterns that keep you stuck, learn how to regulate emotions more effectively, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

I’ll help you build a deeper understanding of what’s driving your thoughts, behaviors, and reactions and together, we’ll create a path forward that feels doable and aligned with your values.

Whether we're tackling anxiety, grief, burnout, or relationship challenges, you’ll leave each session with something meaningful whether it's a new coping skill, a shift in perspective, or simply the relief of being heard without judgment.
