Great to meet you!
I specialize in working with young adults and adult women facing challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, depression, grief, and life transitions—including those related to motherhood, parenting, and midlife (such as menopause). I also enjoy supporting college students as they navigate academic and social pressures.
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness to help clients break unhelpful patterns, connect with their inner strengths, and make meaningful changes. I take a collaborative approach and often incorporate relevant articles and books into our work together.
I have a strong interest and advanced training in maternal mental health. I provide specialized support for women experiencing perinatal or postpartum anxiety and depression, as well as those adjusting to the complexities of motherhood. My research on this topic was published in The Journal of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health in 2015.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and, prior to pursuing counseling, worked as a journalist in New York City. I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Eastern Mennonite University in 2014. I currently live in the city of Charlottesville with my husband and two children.
