Great to meet you!

I'm Jennifer Shocklie, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in Arizona and Oregon, and I provide medication management with supportive psychotherapy fully by telehealth. Before moving into full-time practice, I spent two years as clinical faculty at Grand Canyon University teaching Population Health and psychiatric rotations, so I've sat on both sides of the classroom and the exam room. I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and ADHD, and I bring a culturally attuned, neurodivergent-affirming lens shaped by my own blended background and a life full of moves and transitions. If you've ever left an appointment feeling like your provider only got half the picture — your history, your culture, the way your brain actually works — that's the gap I built this practice to close.

My approach to therapy

I treat care like a partnership, not a prescription handed across a desk. My approach blends evidence-based medication management with brief, supportive psychotherapy woven into every visit, so each appointment is an actual conversation about what's working and what isn't, not just a diagnosis and a follow-up date. I lean solution-oriented — we name the problem, try something, and adjust based on your real feedback instead of guesswork — and I keep a sense of humor in session, because this work doesn't have to feel cold and clinical to be effective. I also stay genuinely open-minded about what progress looks like for you, since it rarely follows a textbook timeline.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is about getting the full picture, not rushing to a prescription. We'll walk through your history, symptoms, and goals together, and I'll ask a lot of questions — some standard screening tools, some just genuine curiosity about your life and what brought you in. Medication isn't usually started at the very first appointment; the priority is understanding you well enough to build a safe, individualized plan. Expect a relaxed but focused conversation, plenty of room to ask me anything, and a clear next step by the time we log off.
