Great to meet you!

I don't know what the rest of your 23 hours looks like in your day, what it may be filled with, who it may be filled with, but in the hour we spend, know that you will be heard and seen. In fact, I often tell my clients that if they want to spend the hour quacking like a duck, I'd join them, no judgement. Something about inner child and play in that, for sure! Hello, my name is Jennifer Shonkwiler, I look forward to exploring what you bring into the hour and having the honor to build therapeutic rapport with you.

My approach to therapy

I meet you where you are. There is so much going on all around, my office provides a space for you to be you. I typically work from a polyvagal/somatic approach, and I also realize there can be so many other ways to healing.

What you can expect from me

The first session is intake, it's exploring what brings you in, it's building therapeutic rapport. You don't have to know what to say, and it's okay to feel nervous or emotional. I can't want to meet you!
