Clients participate in their care by sharing information by answering questionaires and participating in the client interview process. Clients give clues that are verbal as well as nonverbal. Once all information is gathered, diagnosing occurs as a result of the client meeting the criteria of the DSM5. Information captured is used for developing a working diagnosies and is used to set up treatment planning and skill development interventions. Targeted treatment is decided based on the severity of symptoms. Therefore, areas of more difficulties will receive more intensive support v/s areas of less symptoms. The treatment plan is used to promote stabilization of mental health conditions. Education is also very important for providing necessary skill sets for patients to learn how to reduce symptoms rather than allow them to intiensify. Clients are encouraged to seek out learning and treatments that they feel support mental health stability. Clients are also encouraged to seek avenues of personal growth.
I enjoy helping patients become successful in overcoming mental issues. I offer different approaches to treatment depending on the clients' needs. I encourage patients to explore mental health treatment options that will offer them the support that they need. I use education and supportive therapy to reduces negative thoughts and remove barriers to care. Treatment includes medication therapy, counseling or therapy services and coping skills development and use. I offer support to the client for them to achieve stabilization. I offer strategies to reduce polypharmacy (too many medications). I also provide patients education on medications, mental health conditions and treatments. I find that knowledge is very powerful. Therefore, I provide patients educational support so that they become empowered. My goal is for patients to have all the resources that they need to be successful.
