Great to meet you!

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2002. Having worked in healthcare and academic settings, I appreciate being part of a treatment team and am available to coordinate care with other providers when beneficial. Rather than see 'how many problems' a person may be facing... I see 'how many ways things can get better'. I value working with folks to see their puzzle from a different angle and to use tools to clarify, change and improve the picture.

My approach to therapy

I use different evidence based practices for different problems. I am highly trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Often times elements of various therapies can be most helpful when combined.

What you can expect from me

I ask that clients participate in therapy as much as they can, and I will "meet them where they are" in terms of their progress toward change. Some folks may need to "practice" things between sessions in order to feel the benefits. Change is difficult and uncomfortable, but it is a process we will approach together with the goal of improving your quality of life.
