Great to meet you!

Life is a journey that often presents challenges, joys, heartaches and opportunities for growth. There are times when we are able to navigate life’s ups and downs by ourselves or by drawing on our current resources. At other times, it is necessary to reach out and allow others to help you on the journey by providing you with a warm and caring environment, safety and support, or education and tools.

I have been practicing therapy for over a decade as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and am currently a Supervisor in Emotionally Focused Therapy.

I have been married for 35 years and I am the proud mother of five boys. I enjoy the outdoors and find peace connecting with nature. My hobbies include walking, hiking and bike riding. I also enjoy photography, visiting with family and friends and taking time to slow down and recharge.

My approach to therapy

My main purpose is to help clients achieve more resilience, gain awareness of their own needs, and engage in developing healthy relationships.

I work collaboratively with my clients to formulate their goals. We explore together strengths, resources, areas of concern or places for potential growth. After creating an individualized treatment plan, I utilize various tools and techniques to assist my clients to find within themselves the power to bring about the changes they are seeking in their lives.

What you can expect from me

If this is your first time participating in therapy, it can be a little scary because you are doing something that you have never done before. Most of us feel a little anxious when going into the unknown. In your first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other and learning a little more about the problem that has brought you to therapy. You will have time to share with me your concerns, ask any questions about me and about the therapy process. I will ask you some questions that help me get to know about the important parts of your history, health and personal relationships. Together we will set goals and review your plan. As you progress through therapy, periodically, I will review with you your goals and assess your progress. When it comes time to terminate therapy, you will have new tools that can help you for a lifetime!
