Great to meet you!

After raising my kids for ten years, a friend kept hounding me to be a nurse. I came home one day and told my husband I applied for nursing school. He had no idea the ride we were about to go on! I must have been addicted to education because I didn't stop for 7 years —an associate from Rhodes State, a bachelor's from Ohio University, and a master's from Walden University. My patients have taught me the most! I get curious and want to know how to help, better, and so I do.

My approach to therapy

You will find that I truly listen! I also use any tool possible to help guide your care with the best benefits, and the least side effects. It is said that "psychiatry is the only specialty where we don't look at the organ we are treating. We just throw a pill at you, fingers crossed, hope it works." I utilize modern tools like psychiatric genetic testing to see how your body metabolizes medications. It helps guide our treatment plan and avoids loss of hope. We're a team.

What you can expect from me

You can already tell, but with me, it's not fluffy or stuffy, just real. I want you to call me out if you feel like you're not getting what you need. But note, I'm going to give you tough love too. Mental health is a tricky beast, so let's wrangle it together and get you feeling your best soon!
