Great to meet you!

My name is Jennifer Van Loy and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I specialize in working with individuals of all ages who are neurodivergent: ADHD, Autistic, PDA, Sensory Sensitive, Learning Differences, Gender Diverse. I help individuals better understand their nervous system and how it connects with emotions and behavior. I help parents better understand their kids and shift their parenting to support their children and increase enjoyment in their parenting experience. I help people learn strategies to improve their sense of well-being & manage anxiety, depression, and life stress. Respect for your autonomy and your values are central in my work. Don't wait to get help, start your journey toward a more satisfying life today. Please check out my website to learn more:

My approach to therapy

I have a humanistic, relational, secular (non-religious) approach that is informed by an understanding of how each person has unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations and how we are each impacted by life experiences. At times, each of us can feel overwhelmed by the demands on our time and energy or feel stuck.

I have a non-judgmental, strengths based perspective and will work alongside you to support you in identifying your goals and working towards them. When working with children/teens, I honor their need to feel safe and respected and include parents in sessions according to the child's preferences. I use a variety of methods to engage children in sessions so that a video session is effective.

What you can expect from me

I view therapy as a collaborative process and a safe space in which to explore thoughts, feelings, and values and develop improved understanding of automatic thoughts and behaviors that keep a person stuck. During sessions we will work to identify sources of distress and strategies you can use between sessions. For parents, I want to help you better understand your child and gain some insight into your child's "operating system" and ways you can help them get through each day with improved ability to handle the challenges of daily life.
