Great to meet you!

Jennifer Wild is a Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Master's degree in Rehabilitation, Mental Health Counseling with a Certification In Marriage and Family Therapy. She has over 15 years of experience working with children, families and adults in a wide variety of settings, including foster care, the community (in-home), as a children’s outpatient clinician, as a school-based counselor and social-emotional learning coordinator.

My approach to therapy

Jennifer has extensive training and experience integrating a strength-based and cognitive behavioral (CBT) approach encompassing a family-centered, trauma-informed, culturally competent philosophy. Jennifer integrates Positive Psychology interventions uniquely into each of her sessions, utilizing these tools in a way that is effective and digestible for little ones (and older ones) to understand. Jennifer specializes in working with children who are struggling with anxiety, depression, impulse control, ADHD, Autism and behavioral concerns. As well as issues related to trauma, attachment, social skills deficits, family conflict, divorce and strain within relationships. Jennifer has extensive experience working with families / kiddos who are facing school challenges with behaviors or even navigating the IEP/504 process. She has aided families in obtaining necessary community resources and has provided assistance to help navigate the educational system. Jennifer also works in collaboration with other providers to aid in improving the lives of the families she works with.

What you can expect from me

Families and children can expect a very positive and strength based experience while working with Jennifer. She believes that one of the most central aspects of therapy is creating a safe and healing relationship with her clients. Trust, authenticity and being able to connect with a client where they are at is at the foundation for therapeutic growth and wellness.
