Great to meet you!

I am so grateful that you are here! My core belief is that you are the expert in your journey. My practice focuses on supporting individuals who are experiencing anxiety, difficulty with mood, significant life transitions and trauma. Each of these life experiences are unique to you, and I want to learn about your perspective and how these experiences have impacted you. Some traumatic experiences can impact you for brief periods of time; relational trauma may lead to a longer journey of healing. I will seek to understand your experience, what is most important to you and how we can work together to build the quality of life you are seeking.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a relationship between the client and therapist, and that our therapeutic connection is most powerful in supporting your comfort to share your feelings, thoughts and experiences. I am trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist and believe that early life experiences, past relationships and all parts of our mind influence who we are today. Building insight can support our personal growth. I also have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma Informed Care. I have dedicated years to providing treatment for adolescents, families and parents. My goal is to begin where you are today. I want to learn about your current and past experiences and establish goals for therapy alongside you. We will talk about how your thoughts, feelings and experiences connect. We will also talk about the interactions with those in your life today, and past relationships you feel are important to your current world. I will help you make sense out of how all of this connects, and how we can work towards the goals you have established.

What you can expect from me

You are trusting me to join in your personal life experiences during this time, and I will respect and validate you during all sessions. During our first session I will offer you an opportunity to tell me why you are seeking therapy at this time. I will have some initial questions to ask so that we can complete an assessment and begin to develop a plan for your care. That said, I respect that some of your experiences will take time to share. I will take your lead.
