Great to meet you!

My work is motivated by my own deep desire to stand by others as they build resilience, claim their right to joy, and (re)discover their sense of curiosity and possibility.

For 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of working across systems, communities, and life stages — with adults, families, and individuals navigating complex dynamics, life transitions, and the lasting impact of trauma and inequities. I’ve worked in settings that range from deeply clinical to community-based, and through it all, one truth has remained constant: people are remarkably resilient when given the right space and support.

At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone deserves support and a safe place to explore who they are and what they need. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship as a core driver of change — feeling seen, respected, and meaningful is foundational to healing.

I believe you deserve to feel joy, contentment, and excitement about your life. You deserve healthy, fulfilling relationships and a sense of connection to yourself and others.

I work best with adults who are ready to go deeper — who are motivated to take courageous next steps, explore what may be getting in the way, and reconnect with their authentic selves. I specialize in life transitions, self-esteem and self-worth, resilience-building, and helping people rediscover their joy.

My approach to therapy

My work is relational, engaged, and collaborative. I am not a passive companion — I walk alongside you, but I’m also willing to gently take the lead when helpful: to challenge, question, observe patterns, and offer thoughtful feedback.

I integrate psychodynamic, strength-based and motivational interviewing, narrative, interpersonal, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches — all grounded in cultural humility. This means we may explore how your past shapes your present, identify your existing strengths, examine the stories you carry about yourself, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Shame is welcome in our work. Shame, guilt, and regret can make us feel small — but self-compassion and self-love are expansive. Therapy is a space where even the hardest parts of you can be met with understanding rather than judgment.

What you can expect from me

What You Can Expect From Me

Our work together begins with a free introductory “meet and greet.” This is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, for you to ask questions, and to get a feel for whether I’m the right fit for you. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and what meaningful change might look like in your life. Early sessions may include a thoughtful assessment of your needs, strengths, and existing supports so we can collaboratively shape a direction that feels grounded and purposeful.

From there, you can expect:

  • A therapist who is not a “know-it-all,” and who isn’t easily shocked
  • Unconditional positive regard and deep respect
  • A non-biased, listening ear who is genuinely rooting for you
  • Clear and consistent professional boundaries
  • Gentle directness when needed
  • Space for everything from a “laundry list” of what’s going on to deeper reflection and moments of crisis or change
  • A sense of humor when appropriate — because growth can be hard, and sometimes laughter helps

You can also expect support in sustaining meaningful changes, managing the “busy monkey brain,” and exploring the core beliefs that shape how you see yourself and move through the world. I will walk alongside you — and at times help guide — as we examine patterns, build resilience, strengthen communication, and deepen your connection to yourself and others.

My intention is that you leave our sessions feeling valued, meaningful, and truly seen — and gradually more confident, authentic, and grounded in your capacity for joy.
