Jenny Currie

I have been in the counseling field for about 15 years now and have considered it to be the most important work I do. I have had a wide array of experiences as a teacher and also working in various settings, such as residential treatment centers for addiction and eating disorders. These experiences and the years in the field in private practice have shown me the impact of trauma, and that is currently my specialty. I and the other clinicians at my practice serve those as young as age 6 through mature adulthood.

I have an empathetic, honest, and direct approach to therapy. I am a trauma-informed therapist trained in EMDR Therapy who recognizes the importance of helping the client know they are seen. Over time, I have also recognized the importance of the mind-body connection and how the body does truly keep the score. I will work incredibly hard for you if you will work hard for yourself in this process.

In the first session, I establish rapport, explain confidentiality, and established the expectations of therapy. We will also spend time reviewing your physical, social, mental, and emotional history to better understand you so that we can establish your goals. I believe that you need to own your goals, to know why you are here, so that you can make the progress you desire.
