Jenny Heuer

Hello, I’m Dr. Jenny and I’m glad you’re here. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Between my education and experiences, I have over 13 years of working in the counseling profession. I enjoy working with individuals in a variety of areas- including mood disorders, women's issues and empowerment, life transitions, caregiving, trauma, end of life issues, severe and persistent mental health issues, substance use, crisis. I also specialize in working with older adults. Older adults navigate many transitions. You may need to explore relationships, sense of purpose, grief, retirement, caregiving, and/or dementia.

My approach to therapy is meeting you right where you're at. What brings someone to therapy is usually not a situation that occurred overnight. It takes time to explore and process what brings you to therapy in order to find a way to the other side and heal. I am here for this journey every step of the way.

Therapy is a relationship. The first step is navigating if we are a good fit. Next, we will work together to explore what brings you to therapy. Throughout this process we will navigate your needs and goals. I value empathy, wanting you to feel as if I am truly present with you, flexibility, empowerment and support, and when appropriate providing a sense of humor along the way.
