Great to meet you!

Born in Florida, raised in Texas, I moved to San Antonio in 2001 and completed my undergraduate work with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2003. From here I spent the next 10 years working within the field of mental health, specifically, working with individuals that have dual diagnoses (mental health and an intellectual or developmental disability). While I worked a lot with children, I do have experience with all age groups. It was during these years that I developed my strong sense of advocacy for my clients and the drive to help serve this population.I completed my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary's University in 2015. I take a very person centered approach to therapy with my clients.

My approach to therapy

I aim to provide a warm, welcoming environment focusing on my relationship with my client. I believe the individual is the expert about themselves, and my role is to help facilitate their journey towards their goals. My primary areas of specialization are in working with children and adolescents and individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, child abuse, depression, grief, anger, trauma, abuse, sexual identity, parent/peer conflict, and transitional issues.

What you can expect from me

I use a variety of different therapeutic techniques and interventions, tailored to fit you as an individual. My ultimate goal, as your counselor is to guide you in your journey towards happiness and being able to live the life that you want.
