Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Arizona. I graduated with high honors and distinction from Capella University in 2013 with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Simpson College.

As a client-centered individual and family therapist, I believe in a humanistic approach that fosters genuineness, acceptance, unconditional positive regard, empowerment, and empathy. Throughout my career, I have worked in both inpatient psychiatric settings, providing treatment to individuals experiencing severe trauma and acute mental health crises, and outpatient settings specializing in crisis intervention, trauma recovery, and Multisystemic Therapy (MST).

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Strategic Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavioral Parent Training, Gestalt Therapy, and Imago Relationship Therapy. My experience also includes trauma-focused treatment, crisis intervention, substance use treatment, and working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

One of my greatest professional passions is working with Veterans, First Responders, and men who are navigating life’s most difficult challenges. I have a deep appreciation for the unique pressures these individuals face and enjoy helping clients work through trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, anger, grief, loss, life transitions/relationships, and the emotional burdens that often accompany careers built around service to others. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where clients can develop resilience, regain purpose, and move toward lasting healing.

My approach to therapy

I believe every client has a unique story, and therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all experience. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and client-centered, meaning I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals rather than relying on a single therapeutic model.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and challenged to grow. Building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, authenticity, and collaboration is at the foundation of my work.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and family systems interventions, I help clients understand how past experiences influence the present while developing practical skills to create meaningful, lasting change.

Whether you’re working through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, anger, or life transitions, my goal is to help you move beyond simply managing symptoms. Together, we’ll identify barriers, build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward creating a life that aligns with your values and purpose.

I have a particular passion for working with Veterans, First Responders, and men facing the unique challenges that often accompany careers of service and responsibility. I understand that asking for help can be difficult, and I believe therapy should be a place where strength and vulnerability can exist together. My goal is to provide practical, compassionate care that helps clients regain confidence, restore balance, promote empowerment, and move forward with clarity.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make the process as comfortable and welcoming as possible. During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brought you to therapy, and identifying the challenges you’re currently facing. I’ll ask questions about your personal history, relationships, strengths, and goals so I can gain a better understanding of your unique situation.

This first meeting is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share any concerns, and determine whether we’re a good fit to work together. Therapy is built on trust, collaboration, and honesty, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in creating meaningful change.

By the end of our session, we’ll begin identifying your goals for therapy and develop a plan tailored to your individual needs. Whether you’re struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, PTSD, anger, grief, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together at a pace that feels safe, respectful, and focused on helping you move toward the life you want to live.
