Great to meet you!

Growing up, my mother would say, “Treat people like gold.” Sometimes gold can be devalued, lost, and tarnished, but it still has worth, is precious, and can shine. People are the same. Through the partnership of therapy, I hope to assist people in remembering their worth and becoming their best self. To that partnership, I bring 4+ years of experience working as a mental health therapist, many years serving rural congregations, and a lifetime of working the family farm as well as other odd jobs. My experience has helped me get to know people of all backgrounds and understand the nuance of a variety of situations.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In therapy, I value learning each person’s story and tailoring my approach to their needs. Though I pull from a variety of evidence-based models, I generally want the work to feel conversational, thought-provoking, practical, and real.

What you can expect from our first session

As your mental health therapist, I will work to accept you, make you feel safe, listen to you, give my full attention to your needs, share conversation with you, discover the best options for treatment with you, grow together, and teach coping mechanisms. We’ll even cut-up and laugh along the way.
