Great to meet you!

Facing financial, legal, professional, relationship, behavioral, or addiction issues can be incredibly daunting, but you do not have to navigate them alone. Over the past 40 years, my journey as a psychotherapist, addiction and crisis counselor, and pastor has been rooted in the profound privilege of helping adults, seniors, and families establish a secure, empowering baseline for their care. I have worked in mental health clinics, hospitals, jails, recovery centers, and private practice. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my clinical work focuses heavily on treating depression, trauma, anxiety, addiction, and operational stress in first responders, medical professionals, military personnel, law enforcement, and other helping professionals. I also frequently support clients navigating men's issues, life transitions, grief, burnout, and spiritual concerns. Furthermore, if your professional license is in question due to a DUI or a fitness-to-practice case, I provide comprehensive psychological reports and serve as an experienced expert witness to help you defend your case. I am on a personal and professional journey to heal the brokenness of myself as well as others, and I am here to support you in your greatest life challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe that genuine emotional growth flourishes when we balance rigorous, evidence-based practices with a deeply authentic human connection. I approach every client with deep empathy and extend unconditional positive regard. I draw on my professional clinical training as well as my own life experiences to support you psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually. We will work closely together to identify life problems, negative symptoms, and stressors, helping you decide what to focus on first. By utilizing a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and Solution-Focused strategies, we will build a comprehensive treatment plan that best resolves your unique issues. My ultimate aim is to help you change unhelpful behaviors and attitudes, outlining tangible goals that strengthen your recovery and translate into meaningful progress in your daily life.

What you can expect from me

Reaching out for support takes immense courage, and my hope is that our initial telehealth meeting acts as a quiet refuge where you can safely step away from the heavy demands of daily stress. During our first session, I strive to cultivate a calm, non-judgmental environment right from the start. We will gently explore your history, symptoms, and the specific challenges bringing you to therapy at a natural, comfortable pace without any pressure to share everything all at once. You deserve—and can expect—the immediate and positive installation of hope for the future and relief from symptoms in the present. My priority is ensuring you feel fully heard and validated as we collaboratively design a clear roadmap tailored entirely to your client-centered goals, laying a strong foundation for the work ahead.
