My work is informed by relational psychotherapy, ecological systems theory, feminist therapy, and decolonial perspectives. These frameworks help me understand not only what you're experiencing, but also the relationships, culture, environment, and life experiences that have shaped the ways you've learned to cope.
This approach allows me to stay curious about the historical, cultural, social, and systemic contexts that influence our lives rather than assuming everyone's distress should be understood through the same lens.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I'm interested in understanding "What has happened to you?" and "What makes sense given your experiences?" From there, we work together to understand patterns, process difficult experiences when you're ready, and explore new ways of responding that feel more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.
