Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in School Counseling and nearly three decades of experience in education, helping individuals navigate personal, academic, and career-related challenges. Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families, providing guidance and support during times of transition, stress, and uncertainty.

My professional background includes experience as a teacher, school counselor, college and career counselor, and group facilitator in mental health settings. These roles have given me a deep understanding of the challenges people face when balancing relationships, career decisions, educational goals, family responsibilities, and personal well-being.

I specialize in working with adolescents, college students, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and career or educational decision-making challenges. I also enjoy supporting parents as they navigate changes related to their children's growth and independence.

My approach to therapy

My counseling approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful change. I believe every person has strengths that can be built upon, and I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where we begin getting to know one another. The primary focus of the initial session is understanding what brings you to therapy, learning about your current concerns, and exploring the experiences that have led you to seek support at this time.

We will discuss your personal history, current challenges, strengths, and any factors that may be impacting your emotional well-being. This assessment process helps me gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique situation and allows us to identify patterns, concerns, and areas of focus for treatment.

Together, we will begin establishing meaningful and realistic goals for therapy based on your needs and priorities. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, or other challenges, we will collaborate to create a plan that aligns with your desired outcomes.

By the end of the first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, an opportunity to ask questions, and a roadmap for how we can work together to support your growth and well-being.
