Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Jess and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling and am a doctoral candidate in Strategic Leadership. My therapy approach is Reality Therapy which is based in Choice Theory meaning we learn from the past but live in the moment and every choice we make either leads us toward our future goals or away from them.

My approach to therapy

As a counselor, my priority is helping my clients learn how to trust themselves and the decisions they make. This means learning how to separate your thoughts from your feelings and using wisdom to align choices to values instead of letting your feelings control you. I have a background in Christian Counseling as well, so my values are rooted in Biblical Principles.

What you can expect from me

My core values are transparency--so we will both get to know each other in a friendly and professional way, integrity--so you can expect to receive the truth in a consistent and gracious way, and creativity--so you can expect to have weekly homework assignments to help build the skills your mind, body and spirit need for internal balance. Therapy is hard work but comes with a payoff you won't comprehend until you go through it. We are all on the same roller coaster of life, so let's learn how to have fun while on this ride together :)
