Great to meet you!

I am a licensed professional counselor with a degree in trauma counseling from Thomas Jefferson University. With my nearly 8 years of experience, I have worked in community mental health and private practice specializing in PTSD and co-morbid diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use disorders and bipolar disorder. I currently work with teens and adults experiencing symptoms related to PTSD, depression, anxiety, burnout and chronic stress.

Many of the individuals I work with are managing work, relationships and responsibilities while quietly feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or emotionally exhausted. I strive to help clients better understand and support themselves through the lasting effects of trauma in their day-to-day lives, relationships and overall emotional wellbeing. This may look like having a supportive space to be heard, learning coping skills, or gaining insight from psychoeducation and processing - depending on what feels most helpful to you.

I aim to create a space that feels safe, supportive, grounded and inclusive. Together, we can explore your experiences with curiosity and understanding, at a pace that feels right for you. You do not have to do this alone.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, person-centered and trauma-informed. I utilize evidence based modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR and Prolonged Exposure. We will discuss and tailor treatment to your needs, goals and readiness. I strive to approach my work with awareness of how identity, culture, privilege and systemic inequities influence how trauma is experienced and processed, providing care with humility, accountability and openness to feedback.

I believe therapy should balance compassion with structure. In our work, we will focus on building skills/resources, increasing insight and creating sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will get to know one another and explore what brings you to therapy. You are welcome to ask me questions about the therapeutic process and we will discuss your history in as much detail as you are comfortable. From there, we will identify goals based on what you hope therapy will help you understand, feel, and do differently.
