Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Jessa Dingess, MSW, LICSW in West Virginia. My professional background is in integrated behavioral health and community based practice. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) and went on to become a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in West Virginia and Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Ohio.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and trauma informed. I work with you to understand what's driving the stress or symptoms, then we build a plan that is realistic for your life. My style is warm, direct, down to earth (supportive, but not vague), goal focused, strengths based, and at your pace. Areas i often focus on; anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, depression, low motivation, emotional regulation, life transitions, adjustment, boundaries, people pleasing, relationship patterns, grief and loss, family conflict and communication.

What you can expect from me

When you meet with me, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where we start by getting to know each other—not jumping straight into the hardest parts of your life. I put a lot of emphasis on building trust and helping you feel comfortable before we go deeper. We’ll move thoughtfully, and I’ll meet you with warmth and respect—while also challenging you at times when it can support growth. Clients often share that even after the first session they feel lighter, more grounded, and more hopeful. Many describe it as an easy conversation—like talking with someone who really gets it—while still leaving with new insight, direction, and forward movement.
