During the first session, clients can expect a supportive and welcoming environment where we begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. The initial session is focused on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, discussing your personal history, and exploring what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life.
We will talk about your current challenges, emotional experiences, stressors, strengths, and any goals you would like to work toward in therapy. I also provide space for clients to ask questions about the therapy process, discuss expectations, and share any concerns they may have about starting counseling.
My approach during the first session is collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
