Great to meet you!

I am Jessica George and I have been working in the field of trauma recovery for over ten years. I began my career as a victim advocate working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Most recently I became a licensed mental health counselor, specializing in trauma and healing. I have worked primarily with survivors of complex traumatic experiences, as well as survivors of institutional trauma through experiences of incarceration, social welfare systems, and poverty. I focus on helping survivors find healing within the therapeutic relationship, utilizing parts work and experiential work to help clients identify and integrate parts of themselves fragmented by experiences of trauma.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy should be a collaborative relationship between therapist and client. I believe that every client is the expert on their own lives and that the role of therapist should be one of support, encouragement, guidance, and teaching. I focus on reasonable and accessible strategies for clients to achieve their goals and increase their overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

I like to utilize the first session as an open space for the client and I to get to know each other and discuss what has brought this individual to therapy now. Clients can expect the first session to be relaxed and focused on the relational dynamic between us.
