I am a Black-American, queer femme located in Houston, Texas. My passion for counseling is best summed up by Lilla Watson's words “If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” I didn't choose this job to "fix" people, I am a counselor because your liberation is bound up with mine.
My evidence-based and highly relational approach to healing assumes that you have the tools inside to be the person you want to be. Often, we just need a kind companion. I combine skills-building with trauma-informed somatic and emotions-focused interventions.
